Vocational Services
Archer has been providing successful Vocational Services to disabled and injured individuals for many years with the goal of returning the client to his maximum vocational potential- A well paying satisfying job.
Vocational Services usually have the following components:
A Vocational Rehabilitation evaluation is an objective,comprehensive, systematic process to identify and assess the individual’s vocational interests, abilities, strengths and weaknesses, aptitudes, and functional limitations relative to an appropriate employment outcome.
The evaluation measures the individual’s potential for training and reemployment either in a specific vocational area that they have worked in before or in a new field and explores the various services that which may be required in order to bring the claimant to a new employment outcome.
Evaluation Services and preparation for return to work assess and may include:
* Client motivation
* Job analysis
* Resume preparation
* Aptitude and vocational testing
* Job search techniques
* Job placement and retention
* Limited retraining
Examples of additional services recommended may include: assistive technology/devices, reasonable job accommodations, further physical restoration, academic or vocational training, independent living skills instruction, case management services, mental health services, and supported employment options. Ergonomic accommodations may be also reasonably considered in the assessment process to identify the individual’s full potential.
Labor Market Survey – There useful to determine how one individual’s functional limitations have affected their ability to work. This analysis objectively determines the abilities of the individual and their losses in terms of their previous employment as well as their ability to mitigate these damages with new employment specifically. The availability of the kinds of work the individual is a candidate for and expected earnings (including benefits).
Vocational services result in the successful job placement and retention by implementing the recommendations of the evaluation. Examples of these may include:
Job placement
Assistive Technology
Limited Training
Supported Employment
Counseling
Independent Living Services
Ergonomic accommodations
Post Employment Services
Work Opportunity Tax Credit (for employees)
Even if the recommendations are not utilized the results of an evaluation can indicate the steps needed to mitigate the vocational loss (damages) the claimant alleges.
